So for those of you who have already read my Virgin Atlantic MPL selection day post, you'll know that the pressure got to me that day! Anyway, 6 months have passed and I've now left sixth form. A few weeks ago the Generation easyJet Pilot Training Programme opened in partnership with CTC Aviation. Initially, I wasn't sure whether to apply or wait a little while and apply next year. However, to cut a long story short, I applied and have been invited down to Southampton again to attend day 1 selection at the start of September. (This incurs a cost of roughly £295)

Unlike the Virgin Atlantic programme where everything was completed on the same day, selection will be split between 2 days and to progress to the second day you would have to pass the first. The selection day outline is as follows:

Day 1 - Maths and Pilapt.

Day 2 - Group exercise and Interview.

Having gained a lot more experience and learnt a lot from my last application and selection day I'm feeling slightly more confident in what I need to do to ensure I pass day 1. Again, I've made a monthly subscription to Lastestpilotjobs (£30) just to get me used to the Pilapt again, although I personally found this not too bad before. More information on the Pilapt tests can be found on the CR Community.

Additionally, I'm making sure to really focus on the maths test this time and have been using a number of websites including BBC Bitesize to really make sure I've got the basics covered before I start testing myself against the clock. Remember, it's 15 questions in 15 minutes. No calculator. Although the maths itself isn't difficult it's the whole pressure of the day and the fact you're essentially racing against the clock which makes it hard. My advice would be to also make sure you have ways of controlling your nerves, if you're like me, to ensure you can perform to the best of your ability. If you're struggling or have previously failed an assessment drop me a message and I'll be happy to give you some advice and tips that I am using.

With about 2 weeks to go now until my selection day it's a case of just continuing with the preparation I have been doing and making sure I'm as prepared as I can be. Again I'll be travelling down the night before to make things easier and fingers crossed everything will go better than before.

Wish me luck!
